The 27th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP27) will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 6-18, 2022. Building on the results and momentum of COP26 in Glasgow (UK)<\/a> last year and the negotiations at SB56 in Bonn<\/a>, countries are expected to demonstrate at COP27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under the Paris Agreement into action.<\/p>\n

cambiaMO, an observer at UN climate change conferences, will be at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh and will organize, together with SUR Lab of the Bocconi University of Milan, Italy<\/a> and UN-Habitat<\/a>, a side event<\/strong> entitled:<\/p>\n

“The contribution of urban regeneration to climate neutrality in cities”.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The acceleration of climate change poses relevant challenges to cities and requires their transformation to respond to future conditions and needs. Urban regeneration, fostering compact, mixed-use, sustainable mobility, and reuse and conversion to energy-efficient buildings can trigger substantial transformations by providing effective solutions toward making cities more resilient acting in key dimensions of urban sustainable development.
\nThe event aims to investigate sustainable urban regeneration processes and their capacity to mitigate climate change and improve urban resilience, considering social inclusion and gender equality dimensions.<\/p>\n
