The 58th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SB 58<\/a>) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC<\/a>) are taking place at the World Conference Center in Bonn (WCCB), Germany, from 5 to 15 June 2023. The SB58 conference prepares for COP28, the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties, which\u00a0 is scheduled to take place from 30 November to 12 December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).<\/p>\n

cambiaMO, observer at the UNFCCC conferences, participates at the SB58 Bonn Climate Change Conference 2023. As part of the CLIMAS Horizon Europe project<\/a>, cambiaMO organises, together with EarthRights International (ERI<\/a>) and International Disability Alliance (IDA<\/a>), a side event titled:<\/p>\n

Value-based and Human rights approaches to address Climate adaptation issues for a just GST delivery<\/b><\/h4>\n

At this panel, experts from the civil society and the parties will talk about how the adoption of a human-rights approach to climate change impacts would help address what these impacts mean to people. Shifting the focus from technical solutions to values-based resolutions supports an equity-based needs assessment as an essential building block that the GST (Global Stocktake, which is a process for countries and stakeholders to see where they are collectively making progress towards meeting the goals of the Paris Climate Change Agreement – and where they are not) can effectively deliver.<\/p>\n
