The 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, between 31 October and 12 November 2021. The Conference is the supreme decision-making body of the Convention and will bring the parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
cambiaMO will follow the entire Conference being officially admitted as non-governmental organization (NGO) with observer status in the Environmental Constituency. We will pay special attention to mobility solutions to tackle climate change, because this sector emits about one quarter of total greenhouse gases. Solutions and innovative approaches geared at transforming other socio-technical systems (e.g., energy, food, waste) will be at the core of our attention and proposal.
Our observer’s contribution will enhance parties to put more efforts to fully develop the concept, scope and activities under the Art.6.8, including an explicit mention to the rights of indigenous people and local communities, gender justice and ecological and environmental integrity.
