From 6 to 8 May 2025, the city of Vilnius will host one of the most relevant events of the year in the field of sustainable urban development: the Cities Mission Conference, organised under the framework of the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities. This major gathering will bring together hundreds of local government representatives, EU institutions, research centres, private companies and civil society organisations, all united by one goal: to accelerate the path toward climate neutrality in European cities by 2030.

In this context, cambiaMO with Floridea Di Ciommo will take an active role in the conference, reaffirming its commitment to social innovation, climate change and citizens’ participation, and just urban transformation. As a key player involved in pioneering initiatives for sustainable urban development, cambiaMO with Floridea will contribute with its experience while learning from other organizations and cities on the frontline of  climate transition.

An Agenda Focused on Action and Collaboration

The Cities Mission Conference 2025 offers a bold and diverse agenda. The programme begins with an opening session celebrating the achievements of Mission Cities, followed by roundtables, breakout sessions, site visits, and practical training opportunities.

Some of the key sessions where Floridea will participate include:

  • “Scaling up the Mission: How Climate City Contracts Drive Learning and Replication in National Platforms”, which will explore the role of Climate City Contracts (CCCs) in fostering learning and replication across national platforms for accelerating the journey towards climate neutrality in European cities.
  • The New European Bauhaus: Meaningful Community Engagement in Urban Transformation”, focused on the role of the NEB in fostering inclusive and sustainable urban transformations through active community engagement.
  • “Strategic Public Procurement for Sustainable Cities”, examining how green public procurement can stimulate innovation.
  • “Be a Superhero for a Day: Building Stakeholder Trust for Regenerative Urban Transformations”, offering insights into building strong cross-sector collaboration and trust.
  • And, with the cities of Hamburg and Reykjavik, she will present the Amigos project in the Coffee break of the Espacio CIVITAS from 10:30 to 11:00.

If you work in the urban field and climate change, if you believe in the power of collective transformation, Floridea will be happy to contact you after the Amigos presentation.
