Floridea Di Ciommo, director of cambiaMO, will be speaking at the Foresight Session 03- Enhancing transportation equity globally: Outlook, challenges, and future issues.

This Foresight Session will include representatives that in the first part will discuss the “why” of addressing equity in transport. This part will share the role of equity in transportation historically, the current state of policies, research, and activities. It will also provide case studies that establish the framework for the global framing of equity in transport. Lastly, it will include identification of the challenges to address the cultural, social, economic, demographic, and geographic attributes of equity and identify areas for application of current research.

The second part will focus on the typology of transport equity, future research focusing on the development of metrics, data collection (quantitative and qualitative data), and responses to the “why” of addressing equity in transportation The final session will end with a Call to Action.

Floridea will be addressing the Research applications and Case studies in the second part of the session. Such as her inputs on equity in transport related to diversity in geographical locations, gender, and public transport systems as highlighted in the SPINE project, which aims at improving equitable access to transportation for diverse populations, enhancing the accessibility for people in all their diversity.
