CYCLEPOETIC CITY | Linking Europe on two wheels

The project has the aim of fostering awareness about the necessity of an urban ecological transition where traveling habits are crucial. Considering active mobility and cycling as key factors for more liveable cities and sustainable way of life, the project will increase the use of bikes and cargo bikes for daily needs in business and private use by training a core group of young adults to the basic elements of bike culture: cycling skills, sustainable mobility and educational skills.

The activities proposed will build up an easy-to-use open-source platform to organize data on the evolution of cities from a car-oriented city to a human sized CyclePoetic city, and will promote active participation of local people making use of creative / narrative / artistic ways of approaching problems and solutions.

cambiaMO will contribute with its expertise on Equity in Transport (genders, health and inclusion) and Modal balance (active modes, intermodality, public space), especially with projects geared toward active mobility empowerment for target-groups as children, elderly and women: the “Cycling without age” initiative developed in Madrid Escucha 2019; the Spanish Bikeability program developed in Fuenlabrada and in Madrid through the UIA MARES Madrid; the technical support to the Spanish National Cycling Strategic Plan | PEEB). A special attention is paid to gender issues in mobility, including cycling, lifestyles and equal opportunities.
